Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to enhance customer data collection and potentially integrate with CRM or marketing automation tools, Helium Customer Fields might be the better choice, particularly given its higher rating and larger review base suggesting maturity and reliability. However, if the primary focus is on simplifying the login process, improving security through OTP authentication, and actively engaging customers with automated notifications, Lucent ‑ OTP Login & Notify is the more suitable option. Merchants handling sensitive customer data or wanting to optimize mobile-first login experiences will likely benefit most from Lucent's features.
Ultimately, the decision hinges on the specific priorities of the Shopify store owner. If the business already has effective customer data strategies in place, but lacks a secure and convenient login process, Lucent is the stronger recommendation. Conversely, if robust login mechanisms are already present, and a need exists for more granular customer insights, Helium should be considered.
