Helium Customer Fields vs Nerdy Form Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Both Helium Customer Fields and Nerdy Form Builder are Shopify apps that allow merchants to collect information from customers via forms, however, they appear to focus on slightly different areas. Helium Customer Fields, based on its name, likely centers around enhancing customer profiles with custom data. Nerdy Form Builder, described as a general-purpose form builder, aims to provide comprehensive form creation tools for various needs like surveys, contact forms, and data collection for business decisions. The biggest difference lies in social proof; Helium Customer Fields boasts significantly more reviews, suggesting a larger user base and potentially greater overall reliability or a longer presence in the market. Nerdy Form Builder emphasizes customization and feature richness, highlighting multistep forms, conditional logic, file uploads, diverse field types (datepicker, range slider, image select), and styling options. This suggests a focus on complex and visually appealing forms. In contrast, Helium Customer Fields, based on the limited information available, seems more focused on collecting specific customer data points for enriching customer profiles. Our Verdict
If a merchant primarily needs to collect specific information to enrich customer profiles for segmentation or personalization, Helium Customer Fields is likely the better choice, especially considering its significantly higher review count indicating established use and reliability. However, if the merchant requires versatile forms for various purposes, including complex surveys, contact forms with file uploads, or engaging customer interactions with conditional logic and custom styling, Nerdy Form Builder is more suitable despite its lower review count. The choice hinges on whether the need is focused on customer data enrichment or broader form creation capabilities.
For a new store with minimal customer data, Nerdy Form Builder might be advantageous as a general-purpose tool. As a store grows and customer segmentation becomes more crucial, Helium Customer Fields can be integrated if needed. However, the lower review count for Nerdy Form Builder poses a risk compared to the more established Helium Customer Fields.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for simple contact forms?
Both apps likely offer easy setup for simple contact forms. However, Helium Customer Fields might have a simpler interface due to its potentially narrower focus, whereas Nerdy Form Builder may present more options and require more configuration even for simple forms.
Which app offers better integration with Shopify's customer database?
Without more information on Helium Customer Fields, it's difficult to be certain. Its name suggests a strong focus on integrating with customer profiles, making it potentially superior in this area. However, Nerdy Form Builder may also offer integration capabilities, though it may require more manual configuration.
Which app is better for creating complex surveys with conditional logic?
Nerdy Form Builder is the clear winner here. Its description explicitly mentions conditional logic and multistep forms, crucial features for creating complex surveys. Helium Customer Fields doesn't provide this information, suggesting it's not a primary focus.
Which app provides better support for capturing customer feedback on products?
Both apps could be used for this purpose. Nerdy Form Builder's versatility makes it easy to create a feedback form with various field types, while Helium Customer Fields would be more ideal if needing to store the feedback in a specific customer profile field.
Is the higher review count for Helium Customer Fields indicative of superior reliability?
While not a guarantee, a significantly higher review count generally suggests greater reliability, longer presence in the market, or wider adoption. This translates to more opportunities for bugs to be discovered and fixed, and a larger community for support and troubleshooting. However, it's crucial to examine recent reviews to ensure the app's quality hasn't declined over time.
