Our Verdict
The choice between Helium Customer Fields and Wholesale Lock Manager: B2B hinges entirely on the merchant's primary goal. If the main objective is to gather more detailed customer data for improved segmentation and personalization, Helium Customer Fields is the more relevant choice, supported by its higher rating and larger review count. However, for businesses selling both retail and wholesale, needing to control access to specific products, pricing, or content based on customer roles, Wholesale Lock Manager: B2B is the clear winner. It addresses a specific need that Helium Customer Fields likely doesn't cover.
Common Questions
Does Helium Customer Fields offer B2B-specific features like hiding prices for non-logged-in users?
Based on the information provided, there's no indication that Helium Customer Fields offers B2B-specific features. Its focus is likely on data collection rather than access control.
Is Wholesale Lock Manager suitable for a store that *only* sells to retail customers?
Probably not. While it technically can be used to create basic access restrictions, its features are geared toward managing a B2B/wholesale component, making it likely overkill for a purely retail store.
Which app offers better value for a store on a tight budget?
Without knowing the pricing of either app in 2026, it's impossible to give a definitive answer. However, consider the functionality needed. If you don't need B2B access controls, Wholesale Lock Manager is an unnecessary cost. If you need data collection, you may not have a choice between the 2 based on features.
Does either app integrate with third-party customer relationship management (CRM) systems?
The provided data doesn't mention any CRM integrations for either app. Further research would be needed to determine if either offers this functionality.
How much technical expertise is required to set up Wholesale Lock Manager?
While the description states it streamlines store management, configuring access controls and locks could require some technical understanding of customer tags, Shopify's theme structure, and potentially CSS if customization is desired. Based on the descriptions, setting up Helium Customer Fields may require less technical expertise.
