Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a rapid deployment of shoppable videos from their existing marketing or product videos and who value ease-of-use above all, HelloBrand ‑ Shoppable Videos might be a good starting point. However, the very low number of reviews is a significant risk factor that needs to be considered. On the other hand, ReelUp‑Shoppable Videos+ Reels is better suited for businesses already creating content on TikTok or Instagram and want to seamlessly integrate that user-generated content (UGC) into their Shopify store. ReelUp's emphasis on performance and broader feature set, supported by a substantial number of positive reviews, makes it a more robust and reliable choice for most merchants, despite its dependence on external video platforms.
Common Questions
Which app is faster to set up?
HelloBrand claims to create shoppable videos in under a minute, making it potentially faster to set up initially if you already have the videos prepared. ReelUp focuses on importing from external platforms, so setup time depends on UGC availability.
Which app is better for improving SEO?
ReelUp explicitly states that it increases time spent by users on the online store, ultimately improving SEO. HelloBrand doesn't mention SEO benefits directly.
Which app is better if I don't have videos on TikTok or Instagram?
HelloBrand is better suited if you don't have existing content on TikTok or Instagram, as it allows you to upload your own marketing or product videos.
Which app has more social proof?
ReelUp has significantly more social proof with 228 reviews compared to HelloBrand's 5 reviews, making it a more established and trusted app.
Does either app affect page loading speed?
ReelUp specifically highlights its focus on maintaining page speed with Google insights & GT-Metrix testing. HelloBrand implies a seamless integration without interrupting UX, suggesting a low impact, but doesn't provide explicit performance metrics. With HelloBrand's low number of reviews, this claim is harder to trust without independent verification.
