Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants prioritizing simplicity, ease of setup, and direct control over order management within the helpdesk environment, Help Scout is likely the better choice. Its emphasis on personalized support and explicit mention of order editing functionalities positions it well for businesses seeking to quickly resolve customer issues and build stronger relationships.
Conversely, if a merchant is specifically seeking to leverage AI for greater automation and efficiency in their customer service operations (even if it means a slightly steeper learning curve or higher initial setup cost), Intercom: AI Customer Service is the more suitable option. The emphasis on 'AI Customer Service' indicates a commitment to advanced technologies that might provide scalability and efficiency gains in the long run.
