Help Scout vs Relocate+ Order Editorfor Shopify (2026)
Help Scout and Relocate+ Order Editor are both Shopify apps in the Helpdesk category, but they address very different customer support needs. Help Scout positions itself as a comprehensive customer support platform, aiming to provide a personal touch at scale. It focuses on unifying communication channels (email, live chat, social) and providing agents with tools to efficiently handle inquiries. It aims to turn one-time shoppers into repeat customers. Relocate+ Order Editor, on the other hand, specializes in self-service order editing, empowering customers to make changes to their orders (address, products, variants) without needing to contact support. The key difference lies in their approach to customer interaction. Help Scout emphasizes agent-led support with integrated tools, while Relocate+ Order Editor prioritizes self-service and automation for order modifications. Help Scout is best for merchants who want to provide personalized support experiences and manage a wide range of customer inquiries. Relocate+ Order Editor is ideal for merchants looking to reduce support tickets related to order changes and improve customer satisfaction through self-service options. Both apps claim to reduce returns, but approach that outcome differently.

Our Verdict
If your priority is to build strong customer relationships through personalized support interactions and you need a centralized platform for managing various communication channels, Help Scout is the better choice. Its focus on agent-led support and AI tools can help you handle a high volume of inquiries efficiently while maintaining a personal touch. This option is stronger for merchants needing a comprehensive help desk with features beyond order editing.
However, if you are primarily concerned with reducing support tickets related to order modifications and empowering customers to make changes themselves, Relocate+ Order Editor is the more suitable option. Its rule-based self-service editing features can significantly reduce your support workload and improve customer satisfaction by providing a convenient way for customers to manage their orders. This is the better choice if you have a high volume of orders and returns due to incorrect shipping addresses or product selections. For merchants that need a comprehensive solution, they could use both apps if their budgets allow.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Help Scout claims to allow setup in minutes, while Relocate+ Order Editor likely requires some configuration to set up editing rules. Help Scout's focus on a standard helpdesk interface might make it easier for teams familiar with similar tools. However, the right answer depends on the merchant's specific technical skills.
Which app is more cost-effective?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to say definitively. But Relocate+ Order Editor's focus on self-service could lead to lower long-term costs by reducing the need for additional support staff. Help Scout pricing could be impacted by the number of agents that must be added to the platform.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, in theory, although there could be feature overlap. Relocate+ Order Editor could handle initial order editing requests, while Help Scout could handle more complex or unusual support cases. But this requires the merchant to have enough budget and time to manage both apps.
Which app offers better integration with other platforms?
Relocate+ Order Editor specifically mentions integrations with ShipStation and Recharge, while Help Scout does not explicitly detail integrations. Therefore, Relocate+ Order Editor seems stronger on integrations.
Which app is better for international businesses?
Both apps can likely handle international orders, but Relocate+ Order Editor's address editing features could be particularly valuable for ensuring accurate deliveries in different countries. Help Scout's strength lies in providing multi-lingual support through human agents.
