Hextom: Bulk Image Edit & SEO vs Ilana's JSON‑LD for SEO (TM)for Shopify (2026)
Hextom: Bulk Image Edit & SEO and Ilana's JSON‑LD for SEO (TM) both target Shopify merchants looking to improve their search engine optimization (SEO), but they address different aspects of it. Hextom focuses on image optimization, offering features like bulk editing, resizing, compression, watermarking, and SEO-related image attribute adjustments (alt-text, file names). Its primary strength lies in enhancing visual appeal and page load speed, crucial for user experience and search ranking. It’s designed for merchants needing comprehensive image management tools to create visually consistent and SEO-friendly product catalogs. Ilana's JSON‑LD for SEO (TM), on the other hand, concentrates on structured data implementation. Ilana's app aims to improve SEO by making it easier for search engines to understand product information, reviews, and business details, ultimately leading to richer search results (Rich Results and Rich Snippets). Its strength lies in connecting a merchant's store data with the structured data fields recognized by Google and other search engines. This app is geared towards merchants who want to improve click-through rates and qualify for richer search engine displays, especially those looking to leverage reviews and detailed product information in search results. Unlike Hextom, it does not directly manage image optimization.

Our Verdict
If your priority is enhancing the visual appeal and SEO of your product images, especially if you manage a large inventory, Hextom: Bulk Image Edit & SEO is the better choice. Its bulk editing capabilities and image optimization features will streamline your workflow and improve page load times.
However, if your focus is on leveraging structured data to improve your search result presentation and qualify for Rich Results, Ilana's JSON‑LD for SEO (TM) is more suitable. The app’s integration with Google Merchant Center and support for various schema types make it a strong contender for merchants aiming to maximize click-through rates and traffic from search engines, particularly those already using product review apps. Smaller stores may benefit more from the guided setup and training provided by Ilana's app.
