Hextom: WhatsApp, SMS & Push vs WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cartfor Shopify (2026)
Hextom: WhatsApp, SMS & Push and WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart are both Shopify apps designed to leverage WhatsApp for marketing and customer engagement, with a shared focus on abandoned cart recovery. WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart positions itself as an all-in-one WhatsApp marketing and omnichannel helpdesk solution, emphasizing revenue generation without relying solely on traditional advertising. It highlights chatbot capabilities, upselling/cross-selling, and features designed to convert cash-on-delivery orders to prepaid, indicating a stronger focus on directly impacting sales conversions through WhatsApp. While both apps aim to improve sales and engagement, WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart seems to offer a wider suite of features beyond core notifications, including tools for customer data collection, product recommendations via chatbots, and even creating a WhatsApp shop. Hextom, on the other hand, includes SMS and Push notifications in addition to WhatsApp, suggesting a broader scope potentially appealing to merchants looking for a multi-channel approach. WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart has a slightly higher rating (4.9 vs 4.7) but a slightly lower number of reviews (265 vs 280), suggesting a potential difference in user base size or engagement with the app's review system.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a comprehensive, WhatsApp-centric marketing and support strategy with advanced features like chatbots and upselling, WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart appears to be the stronger choice. Its focus on driving revenue directly through WhatsApp, coupled with its omnichannel support features, makes it well-suited for businesses looking to maximize their return on investment from the platform.
However, if a merchant requires a solution that extends beyond WhatsApp to include SMS and push notifications for a broader reach, Hextom: WhatsApp, SMS & Push is the better option. While it may not offer the same depth of WhatsApp-specific features, its multi-channel capabilities can be advantageous for businesses seeking to engage customers across various platforms.
Common Questions
Which app is better for abandoned cart recovery?
Both apps offer abandoned cart recovery, a key feature for e-commerce businesses. However, WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart specifically highlights its abandoned cart recovery campaigns as driving ROI, suggesting potentially more advanced or effective strategies within that app.
Can both apps integrate with popular review platforms?
Only WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart explicitly mentions integration with Judgeme, Stamped, Loox, and Yotpo for collecting and uploading product reviews via WhatsApp. Hextom does not provide review platform integration details within the provided information.
Which app is better for small businesses with limited marketing resources?
Hextom: WhatsApp, SMS & Push might be a good starting point, because it offers a broader range of channels (WhatsApp, SMS, and Push), which might enable merchants to explore what channel works best. Then, once ready, they could move to WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart for more focused and advanced Whatsapp functionalities.
Does one app integrate better with helpdesk software?
WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart positions itself as an omnichannel helpdesk, suggesting deeper integration and capabilities for customer support than Hextom. Hextom doesn't specify helpdesk integration features.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Without hands-on experience, it's challenging to definitively say. However, given Hextom's narrower feature set (primarily notifications across different channels), it could potentially have a simpler initial setup compared to WhatsApp Chat & Abandoned Cart's more comprehensive marketing and helpdesk functionalities. But this is subjective.
