Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter vs Hide Out Of Stock & Push Downfor Shopify (2026)
Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter and Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down both fall under the product display category on Shopify, but they address fundamentally different merchant needs. Hey!Scarcity focuses on creating a sense of urgency and scarcity by visually highlighting low stock levels on product pages. Its core function is to encourage immediate purchases by showcasing the limited availability of products, using features like stock counters, labels, and animations. This app is geared toward increasing conversion rates through psychological triggers. In contrast, Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down is designed for inventory management and optimizing the customer experience by automatically handling out-of-stock products. Our Verdict
For merchants whose primary goal is to immediately boost sales by leveraging psychological triggers and creating a sense of urgency, Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter is the better choice. The higher rating and significantly more reviews suggest greater user satisfaction and potentially a more user-friendly experience for achieving this specific purpose. However, for merchants struggling to manage their inventory, particularly dealing with out-of-stock products and wanting to automate tasks like hiding unavailable items, sending restock notifications, and optimizing product visibility, Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down offers a more comprehensive solution. While it has fewer reviews, its feature set is geared towards solving a broader operational problem.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Hey!Scarcity is likely easier to set up and use because it focuses on a more narrow functionality related to displaying stock levels. Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down, with its advanced automation rules, probably involves a more complex configuration process.
If I only have a few products, which app is better?
Hey!Scarcity might be more suitable if you have a few high-demand products where creating a sense of scarcity can significantly impact sales. Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down's automation might be overkill for a very small inventory.
Which app helps improve SEO?
Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down indirectly helps SEO by ensuring that customers aren't landing on out-of-stock product pages (through redirection or hiding). This reduces bounce rate and improves overall user experience, which are factors in SEO ranking. Hey!Scarcity has less direct impact on SEO.
Can both apps be used together?
Yes, potentially. You could use Hey!Scarcity to create urgency on low-stock items, and Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down to manage items that are completely out of stock. However, careful planning is needed to avoid conflicting messages (e.g., showing 'only 1 left' while simultaneously redirecting to a different product).
Which app is more future-proof?
Hide Out Of Stock & Push Down's feature set, focusing on automation and inventory management, is arguably more adaptable to future changes in ecommerce trends. While creating scarcity will likely remain effective, the advanced automation and reporting features of the hide/push app may be more valuable in the long run.
