Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter vs PushLast: Sold Out Push Lastfor Shopify (2026)
Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter and PushLast: Sold Out Push Last are both Shopify apps designed to improve product display, but they address different aspects of the shopping experience. Hey!Scarcity focuses on creating a sense of urgency and scarcity by displaying stock levels and countdown timers on product pages. This aims to motivate customers to purchase quickly, increasing conversion rates. It's targeted towards merchants who want to leverage psychological triggers to boost sales. PushLast, on the other hand, concentrates on improving the browsing experience by automatically sorting products, prioritizing those in stock. This app primarily aims to boost buyer trust and avoid customer frustration by ensuring customers primarily see what they *can* buy. Its intended user is merchants who regularly have products going in and out of stock and want to maintain a clean, user-friendly storefront. The fundamental difference is their approach to inventory management: Hey!Scarcity actively advertises stock levels to increase urgency, while PushLast manages out-of-stock products to improve usability. Hey!Scarcity is about maximizing sales in the moment by inducing urgency and showcasing limited availability. PushLast is about long-term customer trust and satisfaction by ensuring customers have a positive browsing experience even if products are temporarily unavailable, and improving SEO by decluttering the product pages and collection pages. This distinction is crucial for merchants to understand when selecting the app that best aligns with their business strategy.

Our Verdict
If your priority is to increase immediate sales by creating a sense of urgency around limited stock, Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter is likely the better choice. Its high rating and larger number of reviews suggest it effectively delivers on its promise of boosting conversions through scarcity tactics. However, merchants who prioritize a seamless user experience, especially those with frequently fluctuating inventory, will find PushLast: Sold Out Push Last more valuable. By automatically managing out-of-stock products, it ensures customers always see available products first, improving trust and reducing frustration.
Ultimately, the "better" app depends entirely on the specific needs and strategy of the merchant. While Hey!Scarcity offers direct sales benefits, PushLast provides long-term usability and potentially improved SEO. Consider your brand identity and the kind of experience you want to provide to your customers before making a decision.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
PushLast explicitly states that it is easy to set up and requires no code. Hey!Scarcity doesn't directly mention the setup process, but the description suggests it is also relatively straightforward with definable thresholds.
Which app is better for SEO?
PushLast is explicitly designed to improve SEO by automatically pushing out-of-stock products to the bottom of the list, preventing customers from seeing dead-end pages. Hey!Scarcity does not directly claim to improve SEO.
Which app is better for products with consistently low stock?
Hey!Scarcity is ideally suited for products with consistently low stock, as it creates a sense of urgency, encouraging immediate purchases before the product sells out. PushLast could still be useful in managing out of stock events if the products temporarily sell out.
Which app is better for larger product catalogs?
PushLast might be more beneficial for large product catalogs, as it automates the process of hiding out-of-stock items, saving merchants time and effort compared to manually managing visibility. Hey!Scarcity works best if the few displayed products have a low stock.
Are these apps mutually exclusive, or could they be used together?
These apps could theoretically be used together, but merchants need to be cautious. Hey!Scarcity might contradict the user-friendliness that PushLast seeks to achieve, by creating undue pressure if the stock levels are high enough that a user doesn't feel scarcity.
