Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter vs SG: Notify Me ‑ Back in Stockfor Shopify (2026)
Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter and SG: Notify Me - Back in Stock both address stock management needs, but they focus on drastically different aspects. Hey!Scarcity aims to boost sales by creating a sense of urgency using on-page widgets displaying stock levels, countdowns, and scarcity alerts. Its primary goal is to convert browsing visitors into buyers by leveraging FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). SG: Notify Me, on the other hand, focuses on recovering lost sales when products are out of stock by automatically notifying customers via email when items are restocked. The key difference lies in their active vs. reactive approach. Hey!Scarcity is proactive, actively influencing purchase decisions during a browsing session. SG: Notify Me is reactive, addressing lost sales opportunities by re-engaging customers who previously showed interest in out-of-stock items. Hey!Scarcity seems targeted at merchants who want to actively increase conversion rates on products with limited stock, while SG: Notify Me targets merchants seeking to recover sales from out-of-stock items with minimal setup.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing immediate conversion rate optimization on products with limited stock and comfortable configuring on-page elements, Hey!Scarcity Low Stock Counter is the better choice. The significantly higher rating and number of reviews suggest greater user satisfaction and reliability. The feature set focuses on actively influencing purchase decisions.
However, for merchants primarily concerned with recovering lost sales from out-of-stock items with a 'set-it-and-forget-it' approach, and who value ease of use over active conversion optimization, SG: Notify Me - Back in Stock might be suitable, although the low rating is a cause for concern. Given the discrepancy in ratings, merchants should carefully consider the potential drawbacks and explore alternative back-in-stock notification apps with more positive reviews before committing to SG: Notify Me.
