Our Verdict
For merchants requiring precise control over payment and shipping options based on a wide array of conditions like cart contents, location, and specific product selections, Hide Payment & Shipping iWeb is likely the better choice. Its focus on granular rule creation and ease of use without coding makes it ideal for stores with complex inventory and shipping needs. On the other hand, Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero is a stronger contender for merchants primarily focused on optimizing checkout conversion through customer segmentation and payment prioritization. Its emphasis on intuitive control and support makes it suitable for stores prioritizing broad customer groupings and overall conversion rate improvements, despite lacking the granular control of the other.
Common Questions
Which app is better for stores with international customers?
Both apps allow for customization of payment methods, which indirectly supports international customers by enabling the removal or prioritization of region-specific options. However, Hide Payment & Shipping iWeb, with its location-based condition rules, may provide more direct control over which payment methods are displayed to customers from different countries.
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim ease of use. However, Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero explicitly mentions 'setup takes minutes' and availability of support which suggests a potentially smoother initial configuration.
Can both apps rename payment methods?
Yes, both Hide Payment & Shipping iWeb and Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero explicitly state that they offer the ability to rename payment methods.
Which app is better for a dropshipping store?
Payment Rules Hide PaymentHero might be slightly better for a dropshipping store, especially if the dropshipper wants to prioritize certain payment methods or hide less reliable ones. Its focus on general customer segments and prioritization may be more relevant than granular cart condition rules.
Do these apps integrate with all payment gateways?
The descriptions don't explicitly state integration with all payment gateways. Functionality likely depends on the gateway adhering to Shopify's standard checkout API. It is recommended to check each app's compatibility with your specific gateways.
