Hide Payment & Shipping iWeb vs VL: Checkout Address Validatorfor Shopify (2026)
Both 'Hide Payment & Shipping iWeb' and 'VL: Checkout Address Validator' are highly-rated Shopify apps (5/5 stars with 9 reviews each) operating in the Checkout category. However, they address fundamentally different pain points. 'Hide Payment & Shipping iWeb' focuses on customizing the presentation and availability of payment gateways and shipping methods, giving merchants control over what options customers see at checkout based on various conditions. This aims to improve conversion rates by presenting a tailored and streamlined checkout experience. 'VL: Checkout Address Validator,' on the other hand, prioritizes data integrity and shipping accuracy. It validates customer-provided addresses in real-time, preventing failed deliveries and reducing order issues. It also includes broader checkout customization features, but its core value proposition revolves around address verification and rule-based checkout behavior. While both offer 'checkout customization', the former focuses on *what* payment/shipping *options* customers see, and the latter on *how* checkout *fields* are presented and validated, and on the accuracy of address inputs.

Our Verdict
If you're primarily concerned with optimizing the presentation of payment gateways and shipping methods to improve conversions by, for example, hiding expensive shipping options for low-value orders, 'Hide Payment & Shipping iWeb' is the clear choice. Its focus on reordering, renaming, and conditionally displaying these options provides the granular control needed to tailor the checkout experience.
However, if your priority is ensuring accurate addresses to prevent shipping errors and streamline order processing, or to apply strict rules (e.g., prevent PO boxes), 'VL: Checkout Address Validator' is the better fit. Its real-time address validation and rule-based checkout customization directly address these needs. Businesses facing frequent delivery failures will benefit significantly from this app. Choosing between them hinges on identifying your primary checkout pain point.
