Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi vs Stock Meter: Real‑Time Stockfor Shopify (2026)
Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi and Stock Meter: Real‑Time Stock offer distinct approaches to inventory management for Shopify merchants. Stockyphi focuses on automating the process of hiding and unhiding sold-out products, streamlining inventory management, and providing a smoother customer experience by avoiding dead-end pages for out-of-stock items. This app appears targeted towards merchants with larger inventories or those struggling with manual out-of-stock product management, offering features like multi-location support, smart redirects, and real-time notifications. Stockyphi also offers automated hiding based on missing images, a unique touch. Stock Meter, on the other hand, aims to create urgency and build trust by displaying real-time stock counts and sold counts directly on product pages. It appeals to merchants looking to boost sales by leveraging scarcity and transparency, making it particularly useful for flash sales, limited-edition products, or stores that want to highlight high product demand. The fundamental difference lies in the proactive vs. reactive approach: Stockyphi manages inventory *behind* the scenes, while Stock Meter puts inventory data *front and center* for the customer.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing automated inventory management and a seamless customer experience regarding out-of-stock items, Hide Sold Out by Stock‑y‑phi is the stronger choice. Its features like multi-location support, smart redirects, and real-time notifications offer a comprehensive solution for managing sold-out products, backed by a solid 5-star rating and 40 reviews.
However, if the primary goal is to increase sales by leveraging urgency and transparency around product availability, and inventory management isn't a major headache, Stock Meter: Real‑Time Stock could be a valuable addition. Though lacking reviews, its core functionality may appeal to merchants running flash sales or highlighting limited-stock items. Ultimately, Stockyphi is recommended unless the business model hinges specifically on creating a sense of scarcity around limited-stock items, and inventory management is already very efficient.
