Our Verdict
HideShip is ideal for merchants who want granular control over their shipping options presented at checkout, especially those with complex shipping rules based on products, customer location, or cart contents. It's a strong choice for those seeking to improve conversion rates by simplifying the checkout process and avoiding unnecessary shipping options. SellerDash, on the other hand, is a must-have for Australian merchants heavily reliant on Australia Post for order fulfillment. Its strength lies in automating label generation, tracking, and bulk order processing, saving significant time and effort. If your business primarily ships with Australia Post, SellerDash is the clear winner. However, if optimizing the presentation of shipping options is your priority, HideShip is the more appropriate choice.
Common Questions
Which app is better for international shipping?
HideShip allows you to create rules to show or hide international shipping options based on customer geography, while SellerDash supports international Australia Post shipments and displays live rates for them. SellerDash shines if you strictly use Australia Post; HideShip is better if you use various carriers and need more control over what's shown.
Can I use both HideShip and SellerDash together?
Yes, they address different parts of the shipping process. You could use HideShip to control which Australia Post shipping options (provided by SellerDash) are displayed at checkout based on specific rules.
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on their descriptions, SellerDash might require more initial setup as it involves connecting to your Australia Post accounts. HideShip may have a simpler setup focusing on defining rules for existing shipping methods.
Does HideShip create new shipping methods?
No, HideShip works with your existing shipping methods. It allows you to hide, sort, and rename them, but it doesn't create entirely new ones. It manipulates which shipping methods are already configured on your Shopify store.
What kind of support does each app offer?
HideShip offers multichannel support through in-app chat, website resources, and social media engagement. SellerDash doesn't explicitly state its support channels, but likely provides standard email support or in-app help.
