HideShip:Hide Shipping Methods vs Zipcode Checker ‑ Zipproverfor Shopify (2026)
HideShip:Hide Shipping Methods and Zipcode Checker ‑ Zipprover both address shipping-related pain points for Shopify merchants, but they tackle fundamentally different aspects of the shipping process. HideShip focuses on customizing the shipping options presented to customers at checkout. It allows merchants to hide, sort, and rename shipping methods based on various rules (product, customer, geography, cart), aiming to reduce confusion and prevent incorrect shipping choices leading to extra fees and chargebacks. Its strength lies in its flexibility in managing presented shipping options based on dynamic conditions. Zipprover, conversely, centers around pre-emptive delivery availability checks based on zipcode. It allows customers to check if delivery is possible and see estimated delivery times *before* adding items to their cart. This helps build trust, reduces cart abandonment caused by delivery uncertainty, and prevents orders to unsupported locations. Zipprover is strongest in upfront communication regarding delivery feasibility and timelines, capturing waitlist emails for potentially expanded delivery zones, and minimizing failed deliveries.

Our Verdict
The choice between HideShip and Zipprover depends heavily on the specific problems a merchant is trying to solve. If the primary issue is customers selecting incorrect or inappropriate shipping options at checkout, leading to unnecessary costs or returns, HideShip is the better choice. Its granular control over shipping method visibility allows merchants to tailor the checkout experience based on various factors.
However, if the main concern is customer uncertainty regarding delivery availability or timelines, leading to cart abandonment or orders from unsupported locations, Zipprover is the more suitable solution. Its pre-purchase delivery checks and clear communication of delivery expectations build trust and reduce the likelihood of failed deliveries. A merchant could realistically benefit from *both* apps: Zipprover to qualify customers early and HideShip to refine the checkout experience for those within the delivery zone.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
It's difficult to say definitively without user testing. However, HideShip's advanced rule-based system might have a steeper learning curve than Zipprover's zipcode-based delivery checks.
Can I use both HideShip and Zipprover at the same time?
Yes, the apps address different stages of the customer journey. Zipprover handles pre-purchase availability, while HideShip manages checkout options. They are complementary and can be used together.
Which app is better for reducing customer support inquiries?
Zipprover is likely better at reducing delivery-related inquiries, as it proactively addresses availability concerns. HideShip may reduce inquiries related to shipping options, but the impact is less direct.
Which app is more effective for international stores?
Zipprover, as a "postcode checker", is well-suited for international locations where zip codes are not universally used. HideShip's geographic rules would also function internationally.
Which app offers a waitlist feature?
Zipprover offers a waitlist email capture feature for unsupported areas, allowing merchants to grow potential future sales. HideShip does not offer this feature.
