HIKO Social Login vs VerifyItfor Shopify (2026)
HIKO Social Login and VerifyIt serve fundamentally different purposes within the Shopify ecosystem. HIKO Social Login focuses on streamlining the account creation and login process for customers, offering a variety of social media and email-based authentication methods. Its primary strength lies in enhancing user experience and collecting customer data for personalized marketing through integrations with platforms like Klaviyo and Mailchimp. It caters to merchants looking to simplify customer onboarding and leverage social data for improved marketing effectiveness. The key limitation is its support for *legacy* customer accounts only, potentially creating compatibility issues or requiring migrations for shops built after 2026. The app supports 20+ social media logins. VerifyIt, on the other hand, directly addresses the problem of fraudulent Cash On Delivery (COD) orders. It provides a layer of security by requiring customers to verify their orders via a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to their phone number. Its target audience is merchants heavily reliant on COD payments and susceptible to fake orders. VerifyIt's strength is in minimizing financial losses associated with unfulfilled or fraudulent COD orders by giving store owners the ability to verify orders before shipping. It only supports SMS OTP verification on the COD order type.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing seamless user login and data collection for marketing purposes, HIKO Social Login appears to be the better choice, *provided* they are dealing with a legacy customer base. The high rating and existing reviews suggest a positive user experience, and its marketing integrations offer valuable opportunities for personalization. However, the legacy account support is a significant limitation. If a large part of a store's customer base are not legacy accounts then HIKO is useless.
On the other hand, merchants struggling with fraudulent COD orders will find VerifyIt to be more beneficial. It directly addresses a specific pain point and helps prevent financial losses. The lack of reviews is concerning, but the value proposition is clear. If COD fraud is a major problem, testing VerifyIt is worthwhile.
