HoodEngage ‑ Web Push vs PushEngage Web Push & WhatsAppfor Shopify (2026)
HoodEngage ‑ Web Push and PushEngage Web Push & WhatsApp both aim to boost sales through customer engagement and targeted messaging. However, they differ significantly in their current traction and feature focus. PushEngage emphasizes multi-channel engagement, including web push, app push, and WhatsApp, and provides a streamlined dashboard for managing these channels. It focuses on practical features like abandoned cart recovery, order alerts, and back-in-stock notifications, making it geared towards immediate sales conversion. HoodEngage, on the other hand, highlights its reporting capabilities with 100+ metrics and audience segmentation, suggesting a deeper analytical approach to understanding customer behavior. A key difference lies in their current adoption. PushEngage boasts a perfect 5/5 rating based on 8 reviews, indicating positive user experiences and demonstrable value. HoodEngage, conversely, has no reviews and a 0/5 rating, suggesting it's either very new or hasn't yet gained user trust. This disparity significantly impacts a merchant's decision, as positive reviews provide social proof and assurance of the app's effectiveness. PushEngage also includes WhatsApp integration, offering a direct communication channel, while HoodEngage primarily focuses on web push notifications. Ultimately, both aim to recover abandoned carts and boost sales, but they offer different pathways and levels of current validation.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a proven solution with existing positive reviews and a focus on immediate sales recovery through automated reminders and WhatsApp integration, PushEngage Web Push & WhatsApp is the clear choice. The inclusion of WhatsApp Click-to-Chat and dedicated Shopify Plus support further enhance its appeal. Its higher rating and existing user base suggest a lower risk and higher potential for immediate ROI.
However, if a merchant is particularly interested in deep dive analytics, extensive audience segmentation, and has the time and resources to experiment with a newer app, HoodEngage ‑ Web Push might be considered. Although, the lack of reviews presents a significant risk. Until HoodEngage garners positive reviews and demonstrates its value proposition, PushEngage offers a more reliable and feature-rich solution for most Shopify merchants.
