Hurdle ‑ Health Testing vs Nivoda Connectfor Shopify (2026)
Hurdle ‑ Health Testing and Nivoda Connect are both Shopify apps in the 'Sourcing options - Other' category, but cater to drastically different merchant needs. Hurdle targets merchants in the wellness and wellbeing space who want to offer personalized, at-home health testing (like blood tests and COVID-19 tests) to their customers, completely outsourcing the logistics, lab work, and regulatory compliance. Nivoda Connect, on the other hand, is designed for jewelers seeking to expand their online offerings with a vast inventory of natural and lab-grown diamonds, gemstones, and a customizable ring studio. Nivoda focuses on providing access to a global marketplace, dynamic pricing, and customization options for jewelry creation. The primary difference lies in the product vertical they serve. Hurdle aims to enhance existing wellness product lines with diagnostic testing, while Nivoda aims to provide a full-fledged jewelry sourcing and customization platform. Hurdle's strength is in its complete handling of the health testing process, removing operational burden from the merchant. Nivoda's strength is its access to a global inventory and customer customization tools. While both are 'Sourcing options', they source radically different products, targeting distinct merchant profiles.

Our Verdict
The choice between Hurdle ‑ Health Testing and Nivoda Connect depends entirely on the merchant's business model. If you are selling wellness or wellbeing products and want to add diagnostic testing capabilities without handling the complexities of lab work and regulation, Hurdle is the better fit, despite its lack of reviews. However, its unproven status represents a higher risk.
If you are a jeweler looking to expand your inventory with a vast selection of diamonds and gemstones and offer ring customization options, Nivoda Connect is the superior choice, especially given its positive rating and existing user base. The lack of reviews on Hurdle also makes Nivoda a less risky option, especially in 2026 where app store credibility will be even more important.
Common Questions
Which app requires more initial setup effort?
Hurdle appears to require less initial setup because they handle all logistics and lab work. Nivoda Connect likely requires more setup to integrate with your existing product catalog and customize the ring studio.
Which app offers better potential for increased revenue?
Both apps offer the potential for increased revenue, but in different ways. Hurdle allows you to upsell diagnostics alongside existing products, potentially increasing average order value. Nivoda Connect gives you access to a larger inventory, which could lead to more sales overall and the ability to sell higher-priced items.
Which app provides more control over the customer experience?
Nivoda Connect seems to offer more control over the customer experience through its customizable filters and ring studio, allowing merchants to tailor the shopping experience to their specific brand.
Which app is riskier to install, given the information provided?
Hurdle ‑ Health Testing is inherently riskier due to its lack of reviews and rating. This suggests it is a new app or has not yet gained traction, increasing the possibility of bugs, poor support, or even app abandonment. Nivoda Connect, with a 5/5 rating and 10 reviews, appears to be a more stable and reliable option.
Can these apps be used together?
It is highly unlikely these apps can be used together due to their vastly different product offerings and target audiences. They are designed to serve completely different business needs.
