HX: Hide Express Payments vs Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawerfor Shopify (2026)
HX: Hide Express Payments and Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer represent fundamentally different approaches to checkout optimization on Shopify. HX focuses on simplification by allowing merchants to hide express payment options, aiming to reduce confusion and streamline the payment process. It targets merchants who believe offering fewer payment choices will decrease cart abandonment. Opus, on the other hand, concentrates on increasing Average Order Value (AOV) through upsells, cross-sells, and various incentives. Its strategy centers around incentivizing customers to purchase more through features like free gifts, reward bars, and urgency timers. The primary distinction lies in their core value propositions: HX aims to simplify and control the checkout experience by limiting payment options, while Opus seeks to enhance it through upselling and strategic incentives. HX's target audience is likely merchants experiencing specific issues related to express payment confusion, whereas Opus targets a broader range of stores looking to maximize AOV and conversions. Opus's high rating and significant number of reviews indicate a strong user base and generally positive experiences, a sharp contrast to HX's lack of any ratings or reviews.

Our Verdict
Opus Cart Upsell Cart Drawer is the stronger choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026, given its proven track record (indicated by its 5-star rating and numerous reviews) and comprehensive suite of features designed to boost AOV and conversions. Its focus on upselling, cross-selling, and incentives offers a more proactive approach to increasing revenue. However, HX: Hide Express Payments may be a niche solution for merchants who have data specifically suggesting that express payment options are causing confusion and hindering conversions. The absence of reviews for HX makes it a riskier choice, as its effectiveness is unproven. Ultimately, most stores will benefit more from the AOV-boosting capabilities of Opus than the potentially restrictive approach of HX.
