HX: Hide Express Payments vs Paltrack PayPal Tracking Syncfor Shopify (2026)
HX: Hide Express Payments and Paltrack PayPal Tracking Sync, both listed in the 'Payment options - Other' category on the Shopify App Store, serve fundamentally different purposes. HX aims to streamline the checkout process by allowing merchants to hide express payment options like Apple Pay and PayPal, targeting merchants who want greater control over the payment methods offered and potentially reduce cart abandonment caused by perceived payment confusion. Paltrack, on the other hand, focuses on optimizing PayPal payment processing by automatically syncing order tracking information, thus aiming to expedite fund release and qualify merchants for PayPal Seller Protection. The primary divergence lies in their value proposition. HX offers control and simplification of the checkout flow, potentially boosting conversions by focusing on specific payment preferences. Paltrack focuses on automation and financial optimization specifically within the PayPal ecosystem, catering to merchants who heavily rely on PayPal and want to mitigate risks associated with payment holds and disputes. Their ideal users are very distinct, with HX benefiting businesses of any size seeking checkout customization, and Paltrack most valuable for dropshipping or high-volume businesses processing a large number of PayPal transactions.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing checkout control and simplification, and who believe that reducing payment options will improve conversions, HX: Hide Express Payments *could* be a viable option, *if* they are willing to take the risk of being the first users given its lack of reviews. However, the complete absence of reviews raises serious concerns.
Paltrack PayPal Tracking Sync is the superior choice for merchants heavily reliant on PayPal for payments, particularly those engaged in dropshipping or high-volume sales. The app's automation of tracking sync provides tangible benefits like faster access to funds and reduced dispute risk. The existing reviews, while not perfect, suggest a functional product with measurable value.
