Our Verdict
For a large retailer with multiple locations and complex purchase order needs, Hyperspace Purchase Orders is designed to address those challenges, assuming the app's functionality aligns with their specific requirements and they're willing to invest in setup and configuration, despite the current lack of reviews. However, the absence of reviews is a major red flag. Roasterly: Roasting Schedules is a clear winner for coffee roasters looking to optimize their production. Its targeted feature set and positive (albeit limited) user reviews suggest it can effectively streamline the roasting schedule process and reduce waste.
In short, the choice depends entirely on the business type. If you're not a coffee roaster, Roasterly is irrelevant. If you are a coffee roaster, Roasterly is the more obvious starting point, but due diligence is still required due to the small sample size of reviews.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on their descriptions, Roasterly: Roasting Schedules is likely easier to set up and use, as it focuses on a specific niche with automated workflows. Hyperspace Purchase Orders, with its advanced features and EDI integration, suggests a more complex setup process.
Can Hyperspace Purchase Orders be used by a single-store retailer?
While Hyperspace Purchase Orders *can* be used by a single-store retailer, its primary features and value proposition are geared towards multi-store operations. A single-store retailer might find its feature set overkill.
Does Roasterly handle green coffee bean inventory management?
Based on the description, Roasterly focuses on converting orders into roasting schedules and accounting for roasted inventory. It doesn't explicitly state that it manages green coffee bean inventory, so it likely does not (or only does so indirectly).
Is EDI integration necessary for all businesses using Hyperspace Purchase Orders?
No, EDI integration is an *option* for Hyperspace Purchase Orders, but not a requirement. The app offers other sending preferences like SFTP and Email for suppliers.
Which app is better for a coffee roaster with multiple locations?
While Roasterly isn't explicitly designed for multiple *roasting* locations, it can handle multiple bag sizes and blends, making it potentially usable for roasters with slightly different offerings across locations. Hyperspace Purchase Orders *could* also be used, but that would depend on if its purchase order and supplier management functionality are more needed than actual roasting schedule support.
