Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing proactive inventory management and avoiding stockouts in the first place, especially those with complex, location-based inventories, iAlert ‑ Low Stock Alert is the better choice. Its granular control over alerts and notifications makes it suitable for maintaining optimal stock levels across different locations and product variants. However, if the merchant is more focused on capturing revenue from out-of-stock items, or anticipates stockouts frequently, REZ Back In Stock Notify Me is the better option. The pre-order and backorder capabilities, coupled with the analytics to understand demand, make it a powerful tool for maximizing sales even when products are temporarily unavailable.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on the merchant's specific business model and inventory management priorities. A business heavily reliant on predictable supply chains and aiming for zero stockouts benefits most from iAlert, while a business experiencing frequent disruptions or relying on popular, fast-selling items will find REZ to be a more valuable asset.
