iAlert ‑ Low Stock Alert vs Stockyfor Shopify (2026)
iAlert ‑ Low Stock Alert and Stocky address inventory concerns for Shopify merchants, but with vastly different approaches. iAlert focuses specifically on low stock notifications, providing automated alerts via email or Slack when product variants reach a predefined threshold. Its strength lies in its granular control over alert rules, allowing merchants to customize notifications based on location, product tags, and inventory calculation methods. It seems to cater primarily to online retailers seeking to avoid stockouts and maintain customer satisfaction. Stocky, on the other hand, positions itself as a comprehensive inventory management solution, especially for merchants using Shopify POS Pro in brick-and-mortar retail. Its capabilities extend beyond simple notifications, encompassing purchase order management, stocktaking, inventory reporting, and barcode scanning within the POS system. While it includes inventory analytics, its primary objective is optimizing inventory decisions for physical stores, preventing both stockouts and overstocking. The considerable difference in user ratings points to potential user experience issues with Stocky.

Our Verdict
For online-only retailers primarily concerned with receiving timely notifications when stock levels are low, iAlert ‑ Low Stock Alert is the clear winner. Its higher rating and focus on customizable alerts make it a more suitable and user-friendly choice. However, for brick-and-mortar businesses leveraging Shopify POS Pro, Stocky provides a more comprehensive inventory management solution, despite its lower rating. While it may require more effort to set up and use, Stocky's broader feature set – including purchase order management and stocktaking – can be crucial for optimizing inventory across physical locations. Merchants considering Stocky should carefully review recent user feedback before committing, due to the lower user rating.
