iDenfy ID Verification vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
iDenfy ID Verification and Subuno both address fraud on Shopify, but from different angles and with distinct feature sets. iDenfy focuses on identity verification, aiming to reduce cart abandonment by seamlessly complying with age verification requirements for age-restricted products. It offers document and selfie verification to prevent non-compliance and chargebacks, particularly appealing to merchants selling age-sensitive goods like alcohol, tobacco, or adult content. Subuno, in contrast, is a rules-based fraud prevention platform specializing in credit card fraud and chargeback prevention. It provides tools to customize order screening, automate fraud checks, and analyze suspicious orders before fulfillment. The key difference lies in their approach: iDenfy validates the customer's identity, while Subuno analyzes the transaction for fraudulent indicators. iDenfy explicitly mentions compliance with age verification requirements and handling global ID documents. Subuno highlights customization of fraud checks, automated order processing, and advanced data analytics for risk assessment. The apps cater to merchants with different priorities: iDenfy for age-restricted sales, and Subuno for general credit card fraud protection. The current rating and number of reviews strongly favor Subuno, but the low review counts for both apps suggest a need for caution when making a decision.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling age-restricted products, iDenfy ID Verification is the more relevant choice. Its focus on ID document verification and selfie checks directly addresses compliance requirements and reduces cart abandonment related to age verification. However, the app's low rating and single review should be considered a potential risk factor.
Subuno is a better fit for merchants seeking comprehensive credit card fraud protection. Its rules-based system, automated fraud checks, and advanced data analytics offer a broader approach to preventing chargebacks and fraudulent orders. While still based on a small number of reviews, its 5/5 rating provides a higher level of initial confidence. Before committing to either, merchants should consider carefully testing both platforms in their own environment.
