ILM Size Chart & Size Guide vs OPTIS Product Options, Variantfor Shopify (2026)
ILM Size Chart & Size Guide and OPTIS Product Options, Variant are both Shopify apps that fall under the 'Custom products' and 'Product variants' categories. However, they serve distinct purposes. ILM Size Chart & Size Guide focuses primarily on providing size charts and guides, aiding customers in selecting the correct size, which is crucial for apparel and footwear merchants. OPTIS Product Options, Variant, on the other hand, concentrates on offering a broader range of product options and variant customization possibilities. The key difference lies in their core functionality. ILM Size Chart aims to reduce returns and improve customer satisfaction by addressing sizing issues. OPTIS Product Options allows merchants to offer highly customizable products with various options, color swatches, image uploads, and more complex variant configurations. The vast difference in the number of reviews (47 vs. 1536) suggests that OPTIS Product Options has a significantly larger user base, which could indicate wider applicability or a longer presence in the Shopify app store. While ILM has a respectable 4.9 rating, OPTIS's perfect 5-star rating, coupled with its substantial number of reviews, implies a high level of user satisfaction, potentially related to its broader feature set and versatility.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily selling apparel, footwear, or any product where sizing is a crucial factor, ILM Size Chart & Size Guide is the clear choice. Its focused functionality ensures that customers can find the right size, reducing returns and improving satisfaction. However, if the merchant needs to offer a high degree of product customization, with options like color swatches, personalized text, or image uploads, OPTIS Product Options, Variant is the superior option, even with a potentially more complex setup.
Given OPTIS's overwhelming positive review count, it is generally the better option when deciding between the two for the breadth of functionality. Even if a shop only needs sizing charts, the larger review count on OPTIS would be a reason to investigate that option more. It seems a much more mature product in terms of usage, feature set, and potential support availability.
