ILS: Indian Logistics Services vs Vamaship: eCommerce Shippingfor Shopify (2026)
ILS: Indian Logistics Services and Vamaship: eCommerce Shipping both aim to streamline logistics for Indian Shopify merchants in 2026, but they approach this goal differently. ILS focuses on direct integration with a broad range of leading Indian logistics providers (currently listing 10+ and aiming to add more), offering a comprehensive toolkit for managing shipments from AWB generation to return requests. It is aimed at merchants who want direct control over their carrier selection and operational efficiency through features like bulk order processing and automated notifications. ILS currently also boasts a much higher rating and significantly more reviews. Vamaship, on the other hand, positions itself as a logistics aggregator, emphasizing RTO (Return to Origin) reduction and offering access to a network of 30+ courier partners. Its core value proposition centers around optimized COD services and dedicated account management. This makes it a potentially better fit for businesses prioritizing risk mitigation related to COD orders and seeking personalized support, particularly D2C brands. The key differentiator is Vamaship's focus on RTO reduction and its emphasis on customer support through dedicated account managers and branded WhatsApp tracking alerts. Vamaship appears to focus on specific service optimizations to help reduce returns and give better support.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking direct control over their shipping carriers and a comprehensive suite of tools for managing all aspects of the shipping process, including AWB generation, invoice printing, and return management, ILS: Indian Logistics Services is likely the better choice, especially considering its high rating and positive reviews. This app's focus on efficiency and direct integrations makes it well-suited for established businesses with high shipping volumes.
However, for businesses, especially D2C brands, that are particularly concerned about RTO rates on COD orders and value personalized support, Vamaship: eCommerce Shipping offers a compelling alternative. Its emphasis on optimized COD services, branded customer communication via WhatsApp, and dedicated account managers could prove invaluable in building customer trust and reducing losses associated with undeliverable orders. Businesses new to COD or expanding their COD offerings might find Vamaship's specialized support especially helpful.
Common Questions
Which app offers more direct control over choosing carriers?
ILS offers more direct control, integrating directly with various Indian logistics providers. Vamaship uses an aggregator model, giving you access to 30+ partners but potentially less granular control over the selection process.
Which app is better for reducing RTO on COD orders?
Vamaship explicitly focuses on RTO reduction for COD orders, making it the better choice if this is a primary concern. ILS does not explicitly state focus on RTO reduction.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
It is difficult to say definitively without user experience data, but given ILS's higher rating and focus on simplicity, it is likely to be easier to set up and use. However, Vamaship's dedicated account manager may compensate by offering guided onboarding.
Does either app offer same-day delivery?
Vamaship offers Same Day & Next Day Delivery Service in Metro Cities, while ILS does not explicitly mention same-day delivery.
Which app has more integrations with less common carriers?
Both apps mention integration with carriers. ILS lists specific new integrations such as Purple Dron, Porter, etc. Vamaship focuses on an aggregator model with 30+ couriers, suggesting a focus on breadth rather than deep integration with less common options, but also implies a wider range of selection.
