Inkybay ‑ Product Personalizer vs PriceMate – Make An Offerfor Shopify (2026)
Inkybay ‑ Product Personalizer and PriceMate – Make An Offer are both Shopify apps in the 'Pricing' and 'Pricing quotes' categories, but they address vastly different needs. Inkybay focuses on enabling customers to personalize products before purchase. PriceMate, conversely, centers around allowing customers to negotiate prices through a 'Make an Offer' system. Inkybay's strength lies in offering product customization options to boost sales, while PriceMate aims to increase sales through negotiation and flexible pricing. The ideal target merchant differs significantly: Inkybay caters to businesses selling customizable products, whereas PriceMate targets those comfortable with price negotiation and offering potential discounts. PriceMate's key features revolve around enabling a 'Make an Offer' button, automated offer handling (accept, decline, counter), multi-language and multi-currency support, and customizable email notifications. Their value proposition lies in increasing sales by negotiation. In contrast, Inkybay is centered around product personalization. PriceMate, despite a lower rating (4.7/5), provides 24/7 post-installation support, a potentially attractive feature for merchants seeking hands-on assistance. While not explicitly mentioned, one might infer from PriceMate's description that setting up automatic acceptance/rejection rules simplifies the negotiation process, potentially offering some degree of ease of use compared to manual negotiation.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling customizable products and aiming to increase sales through personalization, Inkybay ‑ Product Personalizer is the clear choice, supported by a higher rating and significantly more reviews. Its primary focus is on enabling product customization. PriceMate – Make An Offer, however, is better suited for businesses willing to negotiate prices and offer discounts to close sales. It's especially relevant for merchants who sell products where pricing is flexible or where negotiation is common. While its rating is slightly lower, the 24/7 post-installation support might be valuable for merchants needing more hands-on assistance during setup.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the specific business model and the type of products being sold. If you sell t-shirts with customer-chosen designs, Inkybay wins. If you sell antiques and are comfortable with haggling, PriceMate is a better fit. Consider PriceMate only if you are prepared to actively manage or automate the offer negotiation process. Otherwise, Inkybay's focus on a more passive sales increase through customization may be more desirable.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Without specific information about Inkybay's setup process, it's difficult to say definitively. PriceMate's automated rules for accepting, declining, or counter-offering suggest a streamlined setup, but this is still not enough information to compare the actual setup time. Inkybay's core functionality of customization could take long to set up if there are complex customizations possible.
Which app has better customer support?
PriceMate explicitly mentions 24/7 post-installation support. While Inkybay's rating is high, information regarding their support options is not provided.
Which app is better for a high-volume store?
Potentially Inkybay, as product personalization scales more easily than individual price negotiations. PriceMate might require more manual intervention, especially with a high volume of offers, unless the automated rules are finely tuned.
Which app is more likely to increase average order value (AOV)?
Inkybay might increase AOV by enabling customers to add more features or customizations to their products. PriceMate's impact on AOV is less direct; it might encourage sales at slightly lower prices, which could decrease AOV in some situations, while also possibly selling more overall volume which increases overall revenue even with a lower AOV.
Which app is better for improving conversion rates?
Both apps aim to improve conversion rates, but through different approaches. Inkybay provides customers with unique customizations, which might make products more appealing and increase the likelihood of purchase. PriceMate offers a perceived opportunity to negotiate a better deal, which could also motivate customers to buy. Ultimately, the effectiveness of each app will depend on the specific product and target audience.
