Interakt ‑ WhatsApp Marketing vs Mikawaya Subscriptionfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, choosing between Interakt ‑ WhatsApp Marketing and Mikawaya Subscription for Shopify hinges on vastly different needs. Interakt, despite a concerning 0/5 rating with 165 reviews, positions itself within the Upsell and Bundles category, suggesting its intention is to boost sales through WhatsApp marketing. However, the poor rating raises serious concerns about its effectiveness and reliability. On the other hand, Mikawaya Subscription boasts a perfect 5/5 rating with 62 reviews and focuses on subscription management, specifically catering to the Japanese market with a strong emphasis on marketing features for increased sales. Mikawaya's key strengths lie in its comprehensive support for subscription businesses, particularly within the Japanese e-commerce landscape. It highlights features like Shopify Payment testing, professional support, and easy integration (5-step setup). Its value proposition centers around improving Conversion Rates (CVR) and Lifetime Value (LTV) with robust functionalities and dedicated support. Mikawaya appears geared towards established businesses or startups requiring a full-fledged subscription management solution, especially those targeting the Japanese market or preferring Japanese-speaking support. The negative rating for Interakt makes it nearly impossible to recommend, until the app improves and fixes bugs or address issues from user reviews.

Our Verdict
Given the stark contrast in ratings and feature sets, Mikawaya Subscription emerges as the clear winner for Shopify merchants seeking a reliable and feature-rich subscription management solution, especially those targeting the Japanese market or requiring Japanese-speaking support. Its focus on improving CVR and LTV through specialized marketing tools and dedicated support provides a compelling value proposition. Interakt's poor rating raises significant red flags, making it difficult to recommend until substantial improvements are made and user feedback is addressed. Unless a merchant specifically needs WhatsApp-based upsells and is willing to gamble on an app with a 0/5 rating, Mikawaya Subscription is the safer and more promising choice.
