Intuitive Shipping vs Super Local Deliveryfor Shopify (2026)
Intuitive Shipping and Super Local Delivery both address delivery challenges for Shopify merchants but cater to distinct needs and operational models. Intuitive Shipping focuses on providing flexible and complex shipping rate calculations at checkout, targeting stores that have outgrown basic shipping options and require granular control over shipping costs and conditions. Its strength lies in its extensive configuration options, SmartBoxing for dimensional rates, and personalized onboarding support. Super Local Delivery, on the other hand, is designed for merchants managing their own local delivery fleets. It offers a comprehensive solution for route planning, driver management, and customer communication. Its core strength is in optimizing local delivery operations with features like bulk route planning, a driver mobile app, and live order tracking. The small number of reviews suggest a newer or more niche offering compared to Intuitive Shipping.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants needing to precisely control shipping rates based on complex conditions, offer dimensional shipping, and customize the checkout experience, Intuitive Shipping is the superior choice. Its comprehensive feature set and onboarding support address the complexities of advanced shipping needs. However, stores solely focused on optimizing their local delivery operations with an in-house fleet should strongly consider Super Local Delivery. The driver app, route planning, and live tracking provide tools specifically tailored for local delivery efficiency.
Ultimately, choosing between the two depends on the merchant's primary pain point. Intuitive Shipping excels pre-checkout, focusing on rate accuracy and presentation. Super Local Delivery excels post-checkout, optimizing the physical delivery process.
Common Questions
What happens when a customer is outside of my local delivery zone?
Intuitive Shipping could manage the out-of-zone delivery through standard shipping options. Super Local Delivery isn't built to handle non-local scenarios effectively.
Can I use both Intuitive Shipping and Super Local Delivery?
Yes, they can be used together. Intuitive Shipping manages shipping options and pricing at checkout, while Super Local Delivery takes over after an order is placed and needs to be delivered locally.
Which app is easier to set up?
It is difficult to say definitively. Intuitive Shipping offers guided onboarding, which could simplify the setup process despite its complexity. Super Local Delivery's ease of setup depends on the operational complexity of the delivery fleet.
Does Intuitive Shipping offer local delivery route optimization?
No, Intuitive Shipping focuses on shipping rate calculations, not delivery route optimization. Super Local Delivery is the best choice if route optimization is a priority.
Does Super Local Delivery support dimensional shipping rates?
No. Super Local Delivery focuses on route optimization and delivery management, and doesn't address the complexities of dimensional shipping calculations at checkout. Intuitive Shipping with SmartBoxing addresses that need.
