Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with protecting their brand from counterfeit products and dealing with complex intellectual property issues, IP Moat ‑ Counterfeit Defence is the more appropriate choice, assuming its capabilities extend beyond simple content protection. However, the very limited number of reviews presents a significant risk. For merchants primarily focused on preventing basic content theft from their website, such as copy-pasting text or saving images, SB Disable Right Click might seem like a solution, but the lack of reviews makes it impossible to recommend. Ultimately, merchants should proceed with caution with either app given the limited information available, prioritize apps with more substantial review history, or explore alternatives.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on their descriptions, SB Disable Right Click is likely easier to set up, as it focuses on a single function (disabling right-click and related features). IP Moat ‑ Counterfeit Defence may require more configuration depending on the scope of its counterfeit detection capabilities.
Which app provides broader protection?
IP Moat ‑ Counterfeit Defence likely offers broader protection if it genuinely addresses counterfeit issues, including brand monitoring and intellectual property protection. SB Disable Right Click only protects against basic content theft through right-click disabling and related methods.
Is SB Disable Right Click effective against sophisticated content scraping?
No. SB Disable Right Click primarily prevents simple methods of content theft. Experienced web scrapers can easily bypass these protections with tools that don't rely on right-clicking or manual selection.
Should I trust an app with no reviews?
It is generally risky to trust an app with no reviews. There is no independent verification of its functionality, security, or customer support. Proceed with extreme caution or consider established alternatives.
What are the drawbacks of disabling right-click on my website?
Disabling right-click can negatively impact user experience. It can prevent legitimate actions like saving images for personal use or using browser extensions that rely on the right-click menu. This can frustrate users and potentially harm your store's reputation.
