Judge.me Product Reviews App vs WEBP Image Optimizer+Speed SEOfor Shopify (2026)
Judge.me Product Reviews App and WEBP Image Optimizer+Speed SEO are both Shopify apps that can enhance a store's performance, but they address vastly different needs. Judge.me focuses on building trust and increasing conversion rates by collecting and displaying customer reviews. It's a comprehensive solution for social proof, offering features like unlimited reviews, photo and video submissions, and integration with Google and social media platforms. In contrast, WEBP Image Optimizer+Speed SEO targets website speed and SEO by optimizing product images through WebP conversion, alt text customization, and lazy loading. Its primary goal is to improve page load times and search engine rankings. Judge.me's strength lies in its mature product offering, high user rating (5/5 with over 30,000 reviews), and robust feature set centered around social proof and driving sales through customer testimonials. WEBP Image Optimizer+Speed SEO, while newer and with far fewer reviews (4.1/5 with 6 reviews), addresses a critical aspect of e-commerce performance: website speed. It aims to simplify image optimization for merchants who might not have the technical expertise to do it manually. Both apps aim to help with SEO in different ways: Judge.me drives SEO through user-generated content and reviews, while WEBP Optimizer focuses on technical SEO through page speed and image optimization.

Our Verdict
Judge.me Product Reviews App is the superior choice for merchants looking to significantly boost conversions and build customer trust through social proof. Its established reputation, massive user base, comprehensive feature set (unlimited reviews with photos and videos, review syndication), and strong support make it a low-risk, high-reward investment for almost any e-commerce store. While WEBP Image Optimizer+Speed SEO addresses a critical area (website speed), its lack of reviews and relatively narrow focus make it a better fit for merchants who already have a solid review strategy in place and are specifically targeting technical SEO improvements.
If you're starting from scratch and need to prioritize building trust and driving sales, Judge.me is the clear winner. If you're already focused on SEO and have a strong review strategy, then WEBP Optimizer could be a worthwhile addition to further optimize your store's performance. However, given the massive difference in adoption and the importance of social proof, most merchants should prioritize Judge.me.
