Kedra Checkout Rules vs Shopify Checkout Blocksfor Shopify (2026)
Kedra Checkout Rules and Shopify Checkout Blocks both operate within the Shopify Checkout category, but cater to distinct needs and merchant segments. Kedra focuses on checkout validation and dynamic adjustment of shipping and payment options, aiming to prevent fraudulent orders and optimize the customer experience by tailoring options based on specific conditions. It appears to be targeted at a broader range of Shopify merchants, emphasizing accessibility for those needing robust fraud prevention and conditional checkout customization without being on Shopify Plus. Shopify Checkout Blocks, on the other hand, is heavily geared towards Shopify Plus merchants. While it offers customization of the Thank You and Order Status pages to all merchants, the core features involving checkout customization, custom fields, advanced discounting, address validation, and dynamic adjustments of shipping and payment methods are exclusively available to Shopify Plus users. This makes it a powerful tool for larger businesses with advanced needs and the budget to support Shopify Plus's higher subscription cost. It also allows for unique branding on the order status and thank you pages for all users.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants seeking fraud prevention and conditional customization of their checkout process, Kedra Checkout Rules is the more accessible and suitable option. Its feature set is geared towards addressing common pain points like bot orders, address restrictions, and ensuring order validity, all without requiring a Shopify Plus subscription. This app is especially beneficial for smaller to medium-sized businesses focused on optimizing conversion rates and minimizing unwanted costs.
Shopify Checkout Blocks is primarily valuable for Shopify Plus merchants who desire extensive control over their checkout experience and post-purchase branding. While the basic features of customizing the Thank You and Order Status pages are available to all, the core checkout customization capabilities, including custom fields, address validation, and dynamic adjustments to shipping and payment methods, are exclusively for Plus users. Therefore, businesses already on the Shopify Plus plan and seeking in-depth checkout control should consider Shopify Checkout Blocks, otherwise Kedra is superior.
