Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts vs Payflow: COD & Payment Methodsfor Shopify (2026)
Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts and Payflow: COD & Payment Methods, while both operating in the checkout and cart customization space on Shopify, cater to fundamentally different needs. Keeper focuses on recovering lost revenue by targeting customers who abandon their carts, presumably through automated email campaigns and other retargeting methods. Payflow, on the other hand, aims to optimize the checkout process itself, specifically concerning Cash on Delivery (COD) management and the customization of available payment and delivery options. Payflow empowers merchants to fine-tune these options based on a variety of conditions, making it especially appealing to businesses seeking granular control over the payment and delivery aspects of their checkout experience. Payflow's core strength lies in its robust condition-based customization, enabling merchants to tailor payment and delivery methods based on factors such as total price, weight, product tags, or customer address. This contrasts sharply with Keeper's focus on post-abandonment recovery. The difference in target audience is significant; Keeper appeals to any store experiencing cart abandonment issues, while Payflow is geared towards stores that offer COD or need advanced control over payment and delivery options, particularly those with complex shipping rules or specific product fulfillment requirements. The higher rating and comparable number of reviews suggest Payflow addresses a pain point more acutely or provides a better overall user experience for its target demographic.

Our Verdict
If the primary concern is recovering lost sales due to abandoned carts, Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts is the logical choice. It focuses on a specific problem and likely offers a straightforward solution. However, if the need lies in optimizing the checkout experience, managing Cash on Delivery, and customizing payment and delivery options based on specific conditions, then Payflow: COD & Payment Methods is the superior option. Its advanced features and higher rating suggest a more robust and effective solution for merchants needing that level of control. For stores already handling cart abandonment effectively but struggling with COD or complex payment/delivery scenarios, Payflow is the clear winner.
Ultimately, the better app depends entirely on the merchant's specific pain points. A smaller store just starting out may benefit more from Keeper's simplicity, while a larger store with complex logistics and payment options will likely find Payflow's advanced features indispensable.
