Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts vs TnC: Terms and Conditions Boxfor Shopify (2026)
Keeper—Recover Abandoned Carts and TnC: Terms and Conditions Box are both Shopify apps listed under the 'Checkout' and 'Cart customization' categories, but they serve distinctly different purposes. Keeper focuses on recovering lost revenue by re-engaging customers who abandon their carts, while TnC is designed to protect merchants from legal risks and chargebacks by ensuring customers explicitly agree to store policies. TnC leverages an AI-based system to reinforce its effectiveness and protect merchants more fully. The primary difference lies in their core functionality. Keeper aims to boost sales, targeting merchants looking to increase conversion rates. TnC, on the other hand, targets merchants who are concerned about compliance, legal issues, and building trust with customers. The disparity in ratings and review count suggests TnC has wider adoption and potentially higher customer satisfaction, possibly due to the increasing emphasis on legal compliance in e-commerce.

Our Verdict
The choice between Keeper and TnC depends entirely on the merchant's priorities. If the primary goal is to improve sales by recovering abandoned carts, and legal compliance is a secondary concern, Keeper might be a suitable option. However, given the current regulatory landscape and the increasing risks of chargebacks, TnC: Terms and Conditions Box is likely the superior choice for most Shopify merchants in 2026. Its higher rating, larger number of reviews, and focus on legal protection and trust-building make it a more valuable investment, particularly for those operating in regions with stringent consumer protection laws.
For businesses that operate in areas with privacy laws like GDPR or CCPA, TnC is crucial, while Keeper only addresses a potential revenue increase. Businesses need to consider the potential legal costs and chargebacks of violating consumer protection laws, which could easily outweigh the revenue gained by abandoned cart recovery.
