Kintsugi Sales Tax Automation vs Singleton | Dual Price Displayfor Shopify (2026)
Kintsugi Sales Tax Automation and Singleton | Dual Price Display both operate within the Shopify Finances and Taxes categories, but address distinct merchant needs. Kintsugi aims to streamline sales tax management, automating processes related to tax calculation and potentially filing (though the provided data doesn't specify this). Singleton | Dual Price Display, on the other hand, focuses on price presentation, particularly for merchants selling to both B2B and B2C customers who require visibility of both tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive prices. Its strength lies in offering customizable price displays and tax rules. Singleton's detailed feature list indicates a focus on granular control over how prices are presented, allowing merchants to define tax rates based on factors like country, product, or customer tag. The app provides options for displaying both prices, only one, or the other, along with customization for design and size ratio. Kintsugi's sole rating and review count offer no information on similar customization features. While Kintsugi boasts a perfect 5-star rating, the low review count suggests limited usage or a very niche user base. Singleton's slightly lower rating is offset by a significantly higher number of reviews, indicating broader adoption and a more established user base providing feedback.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with simplifying sales tax compliance and automation, Kintsugi Sales Tax Automation might be a suitable choice, assuming the automation features are comprehensive. However, the limited data available makes it difficult to fully assess its capabilities. For merchants serving both B2B and B2C customers, or those who require granular control over how prices are displayed, Singleton | Dual Price Display is the clear frontrunner. Its established user base, evidenced by the higher review count, and its feature set focused on dual price display and customizable tax rules provide a more robust solution for managing diverse pricing needs. The higher number of reviews also increases the likelihood of identifying potential issues through user feedback. Without further details on Kintsugi's specific automation capabilities, Singleton appears to offer a more comprehensive solution, particularly for stores with mixed customer bases.
