Kip: Sort Hide Payment Methods vs MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Orderfor Shopify (2026)
Kip: Sort Hide Payment Methods and MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order are both Shopify apps operating in the Checkout category, but they serve fundamentally different purposes. Kip focuses on customizing the customer's payment experience by allowing merchants to reorder, rename, and hide payment methods based on specific conditions, such as customer location, cart total, or product types. MultiVariants, on the other hand, focuses on enabling customers to order multiple product variants in bulk, streamlining the purchasing process for specific use cases. Kip aims to improve the conversion rate by optimizing the payment options presented to customers, removing irrelevant choices, and highlighting preferred methods. It targets merchants concerned with checkout abandonment and those who want granular control over which payment methods are visible under varying circumstances. MultiVariants caters to merchants who sell products with numerous variations (e.g., size, color) and want to simplify bulk ordering for their customers, particularly in B2B scenarios or for wholesale customers. The key difference lies in Kip's focus on payment optimization versus MultiVariants' focus on bulk ordering experience.

Our Verdict
The choice between Kip: Sort Hide Payment Methods and MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order depends entirely on the merchant's needs. If the primary goal is to optimize the checkout experience by controlling the visibility and order of payment methods based on various conditions, then Kip is the clear choice. This is especially useful for merchants who want to prioritize certain payment methods, hide options that are not relevant to specific customers (e.g., COD in international locations), or rename options for clarity.
However, if the merchant sells products with numerous variations and wants to streamline the bulk ordering process for customers, particularly B2B or wholesale clients, MultiVariants is the more appropriate solution. Merchants using MultiVariants will likely benefit from a more user-friendly interface for customers to quickly select and order multiple variations of a product.
Common Questions
Can Kip: Sort Hide Payment Methods and MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order be used together?
Yes, theoretically they can be used together, as they address different aspects of the checkout process. Kip customizes payment options, while MultiVariants focuses on product variant selection and bulk ordering. However, it's crucial to test for compatibility and potential conflicts in the checkout flow.
Does Kip: Sort Hide Payment Methods impact the payment gateway integration?
No, Kip does not directly interact with the payment gateway integration. It only controls the visibility and ordering of payment methods presented at checkout. The actual payment processing remains handled by the configured payment gateways.
Is MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order suitable for products with only a few variations?
While MultiVariants can technically be used for products with a few variations, its primary benefit is realized when dealing with a large number of options. For products with limited variations, a simpler product page configuration might be more effective.
Does the higher review count of MultiVariants ‑ Bulk Order indicate a superior app?
Not necessarily. A higher review count usually indicates a wider user base or a longer time in the Shopify App Store. It doesn't automatically guarantee superior functionality or user experience compared to Kip, which has a slightly higher rating despite fewer reviews. The best app depends on the specific needs of the merchant.
What kind of support is typically offered for both apps?
Without further information, it's difficult to determine the exact type of support offered. However, typical Shopify app support includes documentation, email support, and potentially live chat or phone support, depending on the developer.
