Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO vs Promi AI: Personalized Offersfor Shopify (2026)
Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO and Promi AI: Personalized Offers both aim to boost sales through discounts, but they approach the problem from fundamentally different angles. Kite Discount focuses on broad, rule-based discounts (BOGO, tiered discounts, free gifts) triggered by cart contents or subtotal, acting as a direct replacement for Shopify Script Editor. It targets merchants who want to offer easily understandable and widely applicable promotions. Promi AI, on the other hand, centers on personalized discounts powered by AI, optimizing for profit by targeting specific visitors based on their behavior and data, using techniques like price strikethroughs and custom messages. Kite Discount's strength lies in its comprehensive feature set for traditional discount strategies and its proven track record, indicated by its large number of positive reviews. It's more suitable for merchants prioritizing control over discount rules and aiming for bulk promotions. Promi AI's strength is its AI-driven personalization, offering the potential for higher conversion rates and profitability by avoiding unnecessary discounts. This is geared towards merchants comfortable relinquishing some control to AI and prioritizing precision over broad reach. Promi's A/B testing feature enables constant discount optimization based on real-time data.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking to implement traditional, easily understood discount strategies such as BOGO, tiered discounts, or free gifts, and who are comfortable manually managing discount rules and volume sales, Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO is the clear choice. Its comprehensive feature set, proven track record, and ability to replace Shopify Script Editor provide a solid foundation for building a successful discount program.
However, for merchants willing to invest in AI-powered personalization and optimize for profitability, Promi AI: Personalized Offers is the better option. Its ability to target discounts to specific customers based on their behavior, combined with its A/B testing capabilities, offers the potential for higher conversion rates and revenue gains. This app is best suited for merchants who are comfortable with a more data-driven, automated approach to discounting.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Kite Discount, with its rule-based system, is likely easier for initial setup, offering clear options for BOGO, tiered discounts etc. Promi AI requires time to train the AI model, making initial setup potentially longer. However, Promi advertises a 10-minute self-serve setup, so it may also be very easy to begin using.
Which app is better for increasing average order value?
Both apps can increase average order value. Kite Discount achieves this through tiered discounts and free gifts based on cart subtotal or quantity. Promi AI achieves this by nudging hesitant customers to complete their purchase with personalized discounts, potentially increasing the value of their order.
Which app is better for Black Friday/Cyber Monday?
Kite Discount explicitly mentions combined discounts for BFCM, suggesting it's well-suited for running large-scale, time-sensitive promotions. Promi AI could also be used, but requires time to learn visitor behavior and dynamically adjust discounts.
Which app provides more control over discount logic?
Kite Discount provides more direct control, allowing merchants to define precise rules for discounts based on cart contents, customer tags, and other factors. Promi AI relinquishes some control to the AI model, which learns and optimizes discounts automatically.
Does Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO have AI functionality?
Based on the description, Kite Discount doesn't have an explicit AI functionality. Its strength lies in its robust rule-based discounting and its ability to replace Shopify Script Editor. It depends on manually configuring rules rather than relying on machine learning to dynamically adjust discounts.
