Our Verdict
If you need a wide variety of discount options and require advanced discount functionality, including the ability to migrate complex Shopify Scripts, 'Kite Discount' is the better choice. Its higher rating and larger number of reviews also suggest a proven track record. It would suit established Shopify stores looking to expand their discount strategies beyond basic bundles.
However, if your primary goal is to create and optimize product bundles with a strong emphasis on visual customization and A/B testing, then 'Wide Bundles' is the more suitable option. Its ease of use (claimed 5-minute setup) and integrations with other Shopify apps make it a good fit for merchants who want to quickly implement and test different bundling strategies, particularly those using specific upsell or page builder apps.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
'Wide Bundles' explicitly claims a 5-minute setup time, suggesting it's designed for quick implementation. 'Kite Discount' does not mention setup time but might require more configuration given its broader range of features and Shopify Scripts migration capabilities.
Which app is better for running BOGO offers?
Both apps support BOGO offers. 'Kite Discount' specifically highlights 'Buy X Get Y (BOGO)' in its description, suggesting a strong focus on BOGO functionality. 'Wide Bundles' includes BOGO in its list of offer types, but it is mentioned along with several others and is not the central focus.
Which app is better for design customization?
'Wide Bundles' offers 100+ design options, making it the clear winner for design customization. 'Kite Discount' offers widgets and a custom discount builder, which offer some customization, but not to the extent of 'Wide Bundles'.
Which app is better for advanced discount rules?
'Kite Discount' is better for advanced discount rules, especially given its compatibility with Shopify Scripts and custom discount functions, and its ability to filter by market and customer tag rules. This allows more complex logic that isn't obviously supported with 'Wide Bundles'.
Which app has better integration?
The integrations differ. 'Kite Discount' offers the unique feature of migrating Shopify Scripts, indicating it can integrate with previously built advanced discount systems. 'Wide Bundles' integrates with upsell cart drawers, page builders, and COD apps, enhancing the customer experience.
