Kopia ‑ Import & Copy Products vs MP ‑ Store Migration & Importfor Shopify (2026)
Kopia ‑ Import & Copy Products and MP ‑ Store Migration & Import both aim to help Shopify merchants import and copy product data. However, they present very different profiles in 2026. Kopia positions itself as a quick, single-click solution for copying products, including AI-powered translation, suggesting a focus on speed and scalability for merchants needing to rapidly expand their product catalog, possibly across multiple languages. Its explicit warning against unauthorized copying highlights a focus on legal compliance, albeit alongside potentially questionable use cases. MP ‑ Store Migration & Import, on the other hand, with its perfect rating and significant number of reviews, signals a well-established reputation as a reliable solution, likely focusing on comprehensive and error-free migration of store data. The lack of specifics about MP's features beyond store migration hints at a broader, potentially more complex feature set than just single-product copying. The most significant difference lies in user trust and validation. Kopia has zero reviews and a zero rating, indicating either a brand new app or significant issues that have deterred users. MP, conversely, boasts a perfect score based on over a hundred reviews, implying a consistently positive user experience and dependable functionality. While Kopia emphasizes speed and AI-powered translation, features that *could* be highly valuable, MP prioritizes reliability and a proven track record. The "Poky, Kopy alternative" mention in Kopia's description subtly suggests a potential market of users looking to switch away from existing solutions, positioning Kopia as a disruptor (or a competitor to those other named solutions), but with considerable reputational risk given the lack of reviews.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing speed and potential cost savings *and* willing to accept the risk of using an unproven app, Kopia might be worth a cautious try. The AI-powered translation feature could be particularly appealing to those expanding into international markets. However, the complete lack of reviews raises significant concerns about reliability and functionality. Thorough testing is absolutely essential before committing to Kopia.
For most merchants, especially those migrating entire stores or requiring a reliable solution for importing product data, MP ‑ Store Migration & Import is the far safer and likely more effective choice. Its perfect rating and high review count demonstrate a consistent positive user experience and a proven ability to deliver on its promises. While it may lack the specific focus on speed and AI translation offered by Kopia, the peace of mind and guaranteed functionality offered by MP is likely to be worth the trade-off.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Kopia claims single-click copying, suggesting potentially high ease of use, but this is unverified due to the lack of reviews. MP's ease of use is likely high, given its perfect rating, but may require more configuration for comprehensive store migrations.
Which app is more reliable?
MP ‑ Store Migration & Import is undoubtedly more reliable, evidenced by its 5/5 rating and 109 reviews. Kopia has zero reviews, making its reliability completely unknown.
Which app is better for translating product descriptions?
Kopia explicitly includes AI-Powered Translate feature. MP does not mention translation capabilities.
Which app is better for migrating an entire Shopify store?
MP ‑ Store Migration & Import is explicitly designed for store migration. Kopia focuses more on individual product copying, and therefore is not the best choice for full store migration.
What are the potential legal implications of using Kopia?
Kopia explicitly warns against copying products without permission, highlighting the legal risks associated with unauthorized use. Merchants must ensure they have the rights to copy all product information before using Kopia. MP also requires valid licenses/permissions to copy data. The key lies in the user's compliance with copyright laws, not the apps themselves.
