KwikPass: OTP‑login & Popups vs LockOn‑ Restrict Storefor Shopify (2026)
KwikPass: OTP‑login & Popups and LockOn‑ Restrict Store both operate within the 'Accounts and login' Shopify category, but cater to distinct merchant needs. KwikPass focuses on enhancing the customer experience by streamlining the login process with OTP (One-Time Password) and Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality, coupled with interactive pop-ups to drive engagement and conversions. The app aims to identify anonymous visitors early in the shopping journey, fostering personalized interactions and potentially higher sales. Its strength lies in its proactive approach to lead generation and sales enhancement. LockOn‑ Restrict Store, on the other hand, prioritizes security and access control. It enables merchants to restrict access to specific store content based on various criteria like location, customer tags, or order history. This is useful for scenarios requiring membership-based access, exclusive product releases, or preventing unauthorized access from bots and spammers. LockOn's strengths are in its robust access control features and its compatibility with Shopify’s Horizon theme, ensuring a seamless experience across devices. It serves merchants concerned with securing their store and controlling access to content and products.

Our Verdict
Choosing between KwikPass and LockOn depends heavily on the merchant's specific priorities. If the primary goal is to increase sales by identifying and engaging new visitors through a streamlined login process and interactive pop-ups, KwikPass is the better choice. Its OTP-based login and 'Spin the Wheel' pop-up offer an engaging approach to capturing customer information and driving conversions.
However, if the merchant's main concern is security and controlling access to specific content or products, LockOn is the more suitable option. Its robust access control features allow merchants to restrict access based on various criteria, ensuring that only authorized users can view or purchase specific items. Therefore, LockOn is recommended for stores with sensitive content, membership programs, or a need to prevent bot access.
