Lably—Product Labels & Badges vs Mega Countdown Timerfor Shopify (2026)
Lably—Product Labels & Badges and Mega Countdown Timer are both Shopify apps listed under 'Promotions - Other', but they serve very different purposes and target distinct needs. Lably focuses on visual merchandising and promotional messaging using product labels, badges, and stickers to highlight special offers, holidays, or product features. Mega Countdown Timer, on the other hand, appears to be a standalone app that focuses solely on time-sensitive promotional campaigns. Given the complete lack of reviews and ratings for Mega Countdown Timer, its actual functionality and reliability are unknown, but the name suggests it's designed to create urgency and drive sales through countdown timers. Lably has established a strong reputation with a perfect 5/5 rating based on 399 reviews, indicating high user satisfaction. It provides a library of pre-designed labels, customization options, and display conditions to tailor the appearance and placement of promotional elements. Mega Countdown Timer, lacking any user feedback, presents a much less clear value proposition, and its reliability is uncertain. Lably emphasizes visual appeal and versatility in its approach to product promotion, whereas Mega Countdown Timer likely offers a more targeted approach centered around time-based marketing campaigns.

Our Verdict
For most Shopify merchants in 2026, Lably—Product Labels & Badges is the significantly safer and more reliable choice. Its strong rating, numerous positive reviews, and rich feature set provide confidence in its ability to enhance product presentation and drive conversions. The extensive customization options and pre-designed library offer versatility for various promotional campaigns.
Mega Countdown Timer, given its lack of reviews and rating, presents a considerable risk. While countdown timers can be effective, the absence of user feedback makes it impossible to assess its functionality or reliability. Only consider Mega Countdown Timer if you have specific countdown timer needs and are willing to experiment with an unproven app, accepting the potential for issues or lack of support. Merchants prioritizing a proven track record and versatile visual merchandising should choose Lably.
Common Questions
Which app is better for highlighting a limited-time offer?
Both apps could potentially highlight limited-time offers. Lably can visually highlight the product with a 'Limited Time' badge, while Mega Countdown Timer (assumed functionality) would use a countdown clock. Given its proven reliability, Lably is the safer starting point, but it depends on what style the merchant is going for.
Which app offers more customization options?
Lably appears to offer significantly more customization options. The description mentions extensive control over position, size, font, colors, and dynamic text within labels. Mega Countdown Timer's customization capabilities are unknown, but unlikely to be as extensive.
Which app is easier to use?
While not explicitly stated, Lably is *likely* easier to use, based on its significantly higher rating and number of positive reviews. This suggests a user-friendly interface and a smoother overall experience. Mega Countdown Timer's ease of use is currently unknown.
Which app is a safer choice for my Shopify store?
Lably is the safer choice due to its established reputation, positive user feedback, and clear feature set. Mega Countdown Timer's lack of reviews makes it a risky proposition, as its functionality and reliability are unproven.
Which app offers pre-designed promotional assets?
Lably provides a library of designed product labels for holidays and special sales, such as Halloween, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and Christmas. Mega Countdown Timer likely does not offer pre-designed assets, focusing primarily on the countdown timer functionality.
