Lantern Loyalty & Rewards vs Recurpay: Subscriptions appfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants face a choice between Lantern Loyalty & Rewards and Recurpay: Subscriptions app. While both apps boast a perfect 5/5 rating, Recurpay distinguishes itself with a significantly larger user base, indicated by its 400 reviews compared to Lantern's 2. This difference in adoption rate suggests Recurpay has broader market validation and potentially more robust features, especially considering its focus on subscription management and recurring revenue generation, positioning itself for merchants requiring advanced subscription functionality. Lantern Loyalty & Rewards, with its limited data, remains an option for merchants seeking basic loyalty programs, but more information about its features is needed for a deeper evaluation. Recurpay’s headline explicitly calls out an intuitive customer portal and 24/7 human support - something Lantern doesn’t mention.

Our Verdict
Recurpay is the clear choice for merchants prioritizing subscription-based revenue models and robust customer self-service options. Its 24/7 live human support and focus on automating subscription management offer significant advantages. The ability for customers to manage their subscriptions independently is a crucial feature for scalability. Given the limited information about Lantern Loyalty & Rewards and its lack of demonstrable adoption, it's difficult to recommend without further details. If a merchant only needs a very basic loyalty program, Lantern *might* suffice, but Recurpay's proven track record and comprehensive features make it the safer and more feature-rich option for most Shopify stores implementing subscriptions.
