Latch ‑ Restricted Products vs OTP Login with Phonefor Shopify (2026)
Latch ‑ Restricted Products and OTP Login with Phone, while both listed under 'Security - Other' in the Shopify App Store, address fundamentally different security concerns. Latch, with a limited 5/5 rating based on 2 reviews, likely focuses on restricting access to specific products based on various criteria (though the exact restrictions are unknown due to lack of details). OTP Login with Phone, on the other hand, focuses on enhancing account security and streamlining the login process for customers using one-time passwords sent via SMS or email. This is evidenced by its headline and description emphasizing fast, secure OTP login and registration, backed by a more substantial 5/5 rating with 39 reviews. The key distinction lies in their purpose: Latch is about product access control (the nature of the control is not specified) whereas OTP Login with Phone centers on secure user authentication. Our Verdict
Given the limited information available on Latch ‑ Restricted Products, it's difficult to recommend it over OTP Login with Phone unless a merchant has a very specific and well-defined need for product access restrictions. OTP Login with Phone, with its numerous positive reviews and clearly defined feature set, is a safer and more comprehensive choice for merchants prioritizing account security and a smooth customer login experience. It's particularly well-suited for stores experiencing password-related issues or aiming to reduce checkout abandonment.
OTP Login with Phone appears to offer tangible benefits across different store types, with the ability to customize OTP settings, integrate with SMS providers, and prompt OTP verification during crucial steps in the purchasing process. Latch would only be a viable alternative if a store requires highly specific restrictions on certain products based on certain conditions. However, with minimal information available about Latch ‑ Restricted Products, it's difficult to justify choosing it over the comprehensive offering of OTP Login with Phone.
