Our Verdict
The choice between Latori Tax Exempt Manager and Simple Affiliate hinges entirely on the merchant's primary objective. If the merchant's priority is to navigate the complex world of B2B VAT exemptions and ensure compliance with EU tax regulations, Latori Tax Exempt Manager is the more appropriate choice. However, merchants focused on expanding their reach and driving sales through affiliate marketing programs will find Simple Affiliate the better fit. The significantly higher rating and review count for Simple Affiliate may also indicate a more positive user experience, but this should be weighed against the specific needs of the business.
Common Questions
Can Latori Tax Exempt Manager help me with affiliate sales taxes?
No, Latori Tax Exempt Manager focuses on VAT and tax exemption for B2B transactions, not the complexities of affiliate sales taxes. Simple Affiliate is designed for that.
Does Simple Affiliate handle VAT for international affiliates?
The app description mentions automated 1099 tax forms, implying support for US tax regulations related to affiliate payouts. While VAT may need to be handled separately, it does include some tax management. Direct confirmation with the app developer would be recommended.
Is Latori Tax Exempt Manager suitable for B2C businesses?
While theoretically usable, Latori Tax Exempt Manager is specifically designed for B2B businesses dealing with VAT exemptions. A B2C business would likely find it irrelevant and unnecessary.
Can Simple Affiliate integrate with other marketing platforms?
The description does not explicitly mention integrations with other marketing platforms. However, given its focus on affiliate marketing, integration with platforms like Klaviyo (for email marketing) or social media platforms is a likely possibility. Direct confirmation with the app developer would be recommended.
What happens if a VAT ID is not in the VIES database when using Latori Tax Exempt Manager?
Latori Tax Exempt Manager checks VAT numbers via the VIES database. If a VAT ID is not found, it is likely that the transaction will not be automatically tax-exempt, potentially requiring manual verification or adjustments.
