LettrLabs ‑ Direct Mail vs WAX: marketing on WhatsAppfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, Shopify merchants choosing between LettrLabs ‑ Direct Mail and WAX: marketing on WhatsApp face a decision between traditional direct mail marketing and conversational WhatsApp marketing. LettrLabs, despite a perfect rating, suffers from a near-absence of reviews, making its reliability difficult to assess. WAX, with a significantly larger review base and detailed description, positions itself as a platform for driving sales and retention via WhatsApp, targeting merchants looking to leverage conversational marketing through automated flows and campaigns. WAX emphasizes high open and response rates, particularly for recovering abandoned carts, sending back-in-stock alerts, and post-purchase engagement. It also stresses GDPR compliance. The primary difference lies in the marketing channel: physical direct mail (LettrLabs) versus digital, personalized WhatsApp communication (WAX). LettrLabs likely caters to businesses targeting customers with physical mailers, possibly offering a more tangible and less digitally saturated approach. WAX targets a customer base that is receptive to receiving marketing and support communications via WhatsApp, especially in regions where WhatsApp is a dominant messaging platform. WAX appears to be more comprehensive in offering features around automation, customer journey building, and performance tracking, although the lack of information on LettrLabs limits deeper comparisons.

Our Verdict
WAX is the stronger recommendation for most Shopify merchants in 2026. Its established review base and feature set geared toward conversational marketing on WhatsApp provide a more tangible and measurable approach to driving sales and engagement. The emphasis on automation and performance tracking is also valuable. LettrLabs might be a viable option for businesses with a specific need for direct mail marketing and a budget to experiment, but the lack of information and social proof makes it a riskier choice. If your customers heavily rely on WhatsApp and your business goals include high-touch, personalized communication, WAX is the clear winner.
