Lift: Charity and Donations vs Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builderfor Shopify (2026)
Lift: Charity and Donations and Shopney ‑ Mobile App Builder, while sharing the "Customer loyalty" category, cater to vastly different needs and audiences within the Shopify ecosystem. Lift is designed for non-profits and mission-driven brands seeking to integrate donation capabilities directly into their online stores and POS systems. It focuses on facilitating fundraising through customizable donation options and seamless integration. Shopney, on the other hand, is a mobile app builder aimed at converting Shopify stores into native iOS and Android mobile applications, with the goal of increasing sales, customer engagement, and retention through a more personalized shopping experience. The fundamental difference lies in their value propositions. Lift enhances customer loyalty by aligning purchases with charitable giving, appealing to customers who value social responsibility. Its key features revolve around donation customization (round-ups, tiers, match-funding) and seamless integration with existing store designs. Shopney fosters loyalty through a dedicated mobile app, providing a faster, smoother, and more personalized shopping experience. Its strengths lie in its ease of use (no coding required), push notification capabilities, and rich integration with other Shopify apps, attracting merchants who want to engage customers outside the browser. The difference in their review counts (5 vs 684) suggests Shopney is far more established and widely used, but Lift may serve a niche with distinct focus on charitable giving.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Lift and Shopney depends entirely on your business objectives. If you are a nonprofit organization or a mission-driven brand looking to integrate charitable giving into your Shopify store, Lift is the clear choice. Its features are specifically designed for donation collection and management. On the other hand, if your goal is to enhance the mobile shopping experience, increase customer retention, and drive more sales through a dedicated mobile app, Shopney is the superior option. Its ease of use and marketing-focused features provide a comprehensive solution for mobile commerce.
While both apps fall under the umbrella of "Customer Loyalty", they achieve this goal through vastly different mechanisms. Lift appeals to customer loyalty through shared values and social responsibility, while Shopney focuses on improving the overall shopping experience and fostering direct engagement. Therefore, your decision should be guided by whether you prioritize social impact or mobile commerce optimization.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Shopney explicitly states that no coding is required, suggesting a very straightforward setup process. While Lift emphasizes seamless integration, the specific ease of setup isn't as explicitly stated, implying Shopney might be marginally easier.
Which app is better for increasing brand awareness?
Shopney, through its push notification capabilities and presence on mobile app stores, likely offers a better opportunity for increasing brand awareness and visibility. Lift primarily enhances brand image through association with charitable causes.
Which app is more suitable for a small business with limited resources?
Shopney might be more beneficial for a small business that wishes to retain customers. The increased cost of Shopney can be recouped with new sales opportunities. Lift may not generate additional sales, so this would need to be taken into account. It also depends on whether charitable giving aligns with the brand identity and target audience.
Do both apps integrate with other Shopify apps?
Shopney explicitly mentions a 'rich integration suite with top Shopify apps'. While Lift doesn't specifically detail integration with other Shopify apps, successful 'seamless store integration' likely implies some level of compatibility, though perhaps less extensive than Shopney's offering.
Which app focuses more on analytics and reporting?
Lift specifically mentions 'Track Donations – Stay organized with clear reports on donations and payments'. Shopney refers to 'smart tools, insights and tactics to get app installs' without specific reports around user metrics. Lift focuses more on tracking donations, whereas Shopney is optimized for tracking and growing mobile app users
