LitExtension Store Migration vs Store Migrationfor Shopify (2026)
LitExtension Store Migration and Shopify's Store Migration app both aim to simplify the process of transferring data from other e-commerce platforms to Shopify. However, they cater to different merchant segments. LitExtension positions itself as a comprehensive solution for a wide range of platforms (140+) offering automated, accurate data migration, including complex data types, and boasts 24/7 support. Their target audience appears to be merchants with potentially larger, more complex stores or those migrating from less common platforms. In contrast, the Shopify's Store Migration app focuses on simpler migrations from a smaller, select group of popular platforms (Square, WooCommerce, Etsy, Wix, Amazon, eBay, Clover, and Lightspeed R/X (Vend)). It emphasizes ease of use and integration within the Shopify ecosystem, targeting merchants migrating from those specific platforms who prioritize native integration and are comfortable potentially making some edits to their data after import.

Our Verdict
For merchants migrating from platforms such as Square, WooCommerce, Etsy, Wix, Amazon, eBay, Clover, and Lightspeed R/X (Vend) and valuing simplicity and native Shopify integration, Shopify's Store Migration app is likely the better choice. It offers a guided setup within the Shopify environment. However, if a merchant is migrating from a less common platform, has a large or complex dataset (including metafields, multi-language support, or gift cards), or requires comprehensive support, LitExtension Store Migration is the more suitable option due to its broader platform compatibility and feature set. The significant difference in ratings and the number of reviews also suggests a higher level of customer satisfaction with LitExtension overall.
