Live Shopping by Amperstand vs Mobile App Builder ‑ Apptilefor Shopify (2026)
Live Shopping by Amperstand and Mobile App Builder - Apptile both fall under the 'Video and livestream' category on the Shopify App Store, but they cater to vastly different needs and offer distinct functionalities. Amperstand Live Shopping focuses specifically on enhancing the online shopping experience through live video streams, enabling merchants to directly interact with customers, showcase products in real-time, and facilitate immediate sales. Apptile, on the other hand, offers a broader solution by enabling merchants to create their own branded mobile apps, offering features that go beyond live video and include push notifications, personalized shopping experiences, and more. The primary difference lies in their scope. Amperstand serves as a targeted solution to boost customer engagement through live video. Apptile offers a comprehensive mobile presence with live selling as one of its many features. This means that while Amperstand is best suited for merchants who want to specifically focus on leveraging the immediacy of live shopping events, Apptile is geared towards those looking to create a more complete and personalized mobile shopping experience for their customers, leveraging a mobile app rather than a browser-based experience.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on leveraging live video to drive sales and needing a quick and easy solution, Live Shopping by Amperstand might be a good starting point, especially for testing the waters with live commerce. However, given the significantly lower ratings and review count, caution is warranted.
On the other hand, for merchants who are ready to invest in a more comprehensive mobile strategy and create a branded app experience for their customers, Mobile App Builder - Apptile is the stronger choice. Its AI-powered features and high rating with a substantial number of reviews suggest a more robust and feature-rich platform, even though the initial setup might be more involved. The live selling feature, while not the app's sole focus, complements the overall mobile commerce strategy.
