Locations So Super vs OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POSfor Shopify (2026)
Locations So Super and OpenFiskal TSE & RKSV for POS, while both categorized under 'Selling in person' on the Shopify app store, cater to vastly different needs. Locations So Super is a store locator and directory app focused on improving local SEO and providing a customizable experience for customers seeking physical locations of a business. Its strength lies in its SEO capabilities, customization options (Liquid and themes), and multi-language support, making it suitable for businesses with physical stores seeking to enhance their online visibility. OpenFiskal, on the other hand, is a fiscalization platform designed specifically for Shopify POS merchants in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH region). It prioritizes compliance with local regulations (KassenSichV and RKSV) through features like securely signed receipts with QR codes, automated Z-reports, and comprehensive bookkeeping tools. The primary difference between the two apps is their core functionality. Locations So Super addresses marketing and customer acquisition for brick-and-mortar businesses, while OpenFiskal handles regulatory compliance related to point-of-sale transactions in specific European countries. While both relate to 'Selling in person', one aims to attract customers to those locations, while the other ensures lawful financial record-keeping for in-person sales. The number of reviews suggests OpenFiskal has a stronger established user base, but the 5/5 rating is shared by both suggesting a high level of satisfaction within their individual target audiences.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Locations So Super and OpenFiskal depends entirely on your business needs. If you operate physical stores and want to improve your online presence and attract more local customers, Locations So Super is the appropriate choice. Its SEO capabilities and customization options can significantly enhance your discoverability. Conversely, if you operate a Shopify POS system within Germany, Austria, or Switzerland and need to comply with KassenSichV and RKSV regulations, OpenFiskal is essential. It provides the necessary tools for secure transaction processing, compliant reporting, and simplified bookkeeping in line with local laws. Therefore, it is unlikely a merchant would need BOTH apps simultaneously, as they address completely different areas of business operations.
